That's an '00 or better engine.
Must've used one of the industrial belts available.
why?? just looks painted to me.
But why paint it exactly like a stock engine? Silver fin tips and all?

The rear brake looks pretty effective. I really like a lot of the elements of the bike.
Braking the drive line looks cool but is on the dangerous side of things.
I agree 100%.
A panic stop would cause the belt to jump (skip) the front pulley and the bike would careen into the obstacle.
Goodbye...
On the other hand, the bike looks like it isn't even intended for road use...

Is that a gas tank or a still?
I like the bronze/brass/whatever, but not really sure I like the frontend. I like the looks of the basic springers better. An interesting exhaust though. The rear brake reminds me of the e-brake on a '48 International I used to drive, drum mounted on the back of the tranny, just before the 1st u-joint: great, unless the driveline breaks, then ya got nothing!

The front brake looks ineffective. Maybe you are supposed to pedal backwards to stop, like a bicycle.
But it is a work of mechanical art.

O.K., so here goes....
1. I cut off the mounts from a pair of really screwed up footpegs...
2. I'm gonna' have 9/16" nuts welded on to the ends...
3. screw in pedals of your choice...
thinking of going old school... like these...
...and presto!....

Of course you could put on 2 right handed threaded pedals.

I was wondering how he could tell too. Anyway, they changed the paint from silver paint to black paint in '02......

'02 black and silver, I should know better now that I got an '02 engine, it will stick in my mind.
Hey serobot, nice nuts, but I think I would've gone for doubles or coupling nuts. That way the welding won't distort the mating threads.

My wife will do it for free! Oh, you mean those nuts!
It's a good thing the judges didn't nick him for the head plug leak!
