Stock you have just the one bulb, so if it dies you are dark in the rear as well -- which is the main reason I added the run/brake red LEDs to the rear turn signals -- a $50 kit.  Or you could simply add a couple of lights on the rack.

I went out to look at it just now to make sure it did not cover the tail lights. The rack sits a good bit higher than the tail light so only if I had a soft package drooping down would the light get covered. But maybe a couple LED's on the rack would finish it off nicely.
