Corbin Seat for our S40's and Savages
10/27/08 at 12:14:23

I e-mailed Corbin and asked them about purchasing a Gunfighter seat for my 2005 S-40.  Bryan Custer from Corbin Inc. got back to me.
He said that Corbin is ready to make us a seat, all they need is to borrow a S-40/Savage for a month to design the seat, then we should be able to buy one.  The person who lends Corbin their bike for a month will benefit by receiving the first  S40/Savage Corbin Saddle free of charge.  Corbin is located in Hollister CA. , unfortunately I live in NJ.  If anyone lives close to Corbin Inc. and wants to do this, please contact them.  Bryan did say that it takes a month for the design from the time they receive a bike.

I took a chance and offered them my bike for their Florida site but they responded nicely that they were only accepting bikes in California.   Sad

Dayum!  The shipping would cost WAY more than a seat!

Someone is going to get a great deal!  I'm sorry it's not me.

Is it just me, pr does anyone else think it's strange that a bike that has been made in quantity for over 20 years has such a dearth of custom seats available for it? It sucks that we have to make do with cast-off factory seats from Harley, modify our own, or build one from scratch.

My husband has 2 different custom seats for his Intruder 1400, and I'm still fiddling around trying to decide if I want him to make me a seat or to buy a used Sportster seat and mod it.

For that matter, where is Mustang on this? I had a Vulcan 800 with a Mustang solo seat on it, and that was cheaper than a Corbin and more comfortable. Less maintenance too, since it was vinyl rather than leather like the Corbins are.

Not to hijack this thread, but which years of the Sportster seat fit the frame profile of our Savages best? I have resisted paying $9.95 from that character on Ebay to find out.
