Built Some Home Made Handlebars with Pics!!

So I only have some 1" solid stock and some square steel. I am thinking about making the uprights out of the square and use the round stock as the horizontals. Does anyone know if that would work or will the Solid stock be to heavy? Each piece of Solid stock is about 5lbs! I don't want the vibrations to sway all that weight around!
Now I just need to finish grinding and paint black!!!

I like the curve of the handlebars -- would be interesting to see the hyrdaulic press that'll bend a 1" solid rod into shape.
As for vibration... people add weight to stop the vibes.
For me the bottom line would be "how much would it cost to try?" You already have the stock, just a matter of putting it together to see how it works.

Does that springer bounce as much as my girder does? I like the bars by the way, I was once toying with the idea of making some out of 1 in outside diameter threaded pipe and elbow joints and weld the joints so they wouldn't unscrew. It would have definitely givin' a rat bike look. I still might do that sometime.

Oh Yes it does! Hell it may bounce a bit more cause of the rake on the darn thing! I say go for it with making your own bars... I wouls just be careful and not use iron or galvanized for your pipe... they won't handle the weather or vibrations of the road, but I am preaching to the quire on this one! I actually toyed with that same idea myself for a bit! but went this way instead!

Not bad, I like. I just realized though, that's not a Savage frame is it?

They didn't cost me very much... I would say it was $27 for the steel and another $15 for the wire in my welder! Other than that I thought them out and built them in one day!
