Palidin,
Do you know the model number for the Tempter???

Red Wine has a LS400 with a bad piston.  He's having a hard time getting parts.  Having a second model to search for would help.

T. Mack

I'm not Palidin but Tempter 400 is ST400. I reckon there are more LS400's in western world than ST's, but it is remotely possible there's an abandoned ST400 somewhere. Hope Red_Wine sees this.

Excelent.  The TS400 was exported, a quick web search found a 2000 model for sale in Australia and another in the UK.  The UK one claims a legal 33bhp.  Seems everone else in the world has access to great middleweight motorcycles.

If you meant ST400, all the ST's in Europe are grey imports. There were a few grey import dealers (selling models imported from Japan including Jap only models) in England a few years ago when official prices were a bit inflated. Check out also the Suzuki 350 Goose.

Reading through the auto-translated version of the Japanese Wikipedia is tough work, but interesting nonetheless.  ST400 article

When Babel Fished, the japanese Wikipedia ends the article: " But reputation in the market is not good, 2000 model has become production end lastly."  Cheesy

Can anyone photoshop the Tenmpter's front fork&drum brake onto the Savage?

I think the result would be extremely interesting... Wink

Nice bike, needs our motor.

Any idea how far it will go on a tank?

Has anyone done EFi w/o a converter on a 650?

The TU250 has a 3.17 gallon tank.  They don't give an estimated mileage figure, but it should be at least as good as the GZ250.  They rate the GZ250 at 82 mpg.  They rate our Savage at 63 mpg!?  So figure about 70 mpg city riding, about the same highway as it's working to maintain speed.  An easy 180 miles per tank, probably closer to 200.

More of a dark burgandy on my screen, it may be the replacement for the Savage.  Front disk, brake and shifter no longer crossing over, 8.5:1 compression (up from 6.5:1) and FI....   I wonder if it'll be a 50-state bike, the current Enfields do not meet California requirements.

I spoke with an Enfield dealer a couple of months back. She indicated that Californians would still need a "48" address to get the RE into Cali. She stated that they sell a good many to family here in Texas, and then ship the thing to Cali as soon as the paperwork is done. By  "48" I guess that means you can't import them to Hawaii either.

Oh, I must have the green version.  Do you think any will be shipped to rural Ohio? Grin

That is a gorgeous, classic beauty of a bike.

i saw the whole line in kaneohe,HI about 3 months ago... my GF and i decided that it would be a good thing to bring our new-born child to a cool mc shop for his first time out into the consumerist culture... but anyway, the 500 was sweet! and only about $4,000.
