Re: Decomp solenoid Reply #16 - 09/25/08 at 21:27:17 Yep, unload some wiring & that solenoid & just leave a piece of the cable, make a loop, or run it loose up to something on the frame, just the cable, no housing, & grab it & shove it one way or the other, so gloved hands can handle it easy.

The timer controls power to the solenoid then after a fraction of a second to the starter motor. So, if the motor starts it's not the starter button. I think it may just be a loose connection.... but.... you may need to get your hands dirty and do some troubleshooting.
