Wheels?

I don't suppose the SV 650 rims would fit our bikes without too much trouble would they? They look good and it sure would be nice to have disc brakes on the back. Oh, but I realy would like to keep the belt drive as I bought an extra used belt for the day the original might go on vacation.

You ought to get with oldfeller, he's got one.

Otherwise, look at gs450's.

It might do, if:

- The wheel is not too wide for the Savage bodywork
- The axle is the same diameter
- The belt pulley perfectly and coincidentally fits the cush drive side of the SV rim
- There is room for the brake caliper mounts on the left hand side (ie, if the Savage swingarm is wide enough)
- You can find somewhere to attach the caliper brace
- You can find somewhere to fit the brake mydraulic master cylinder

If the answer to any of those is no, you'll need a machine shop and/or welding gear.

OK, so...
...which front wheel would be compatible ?

I understand the rear wheel could pose a problem, but if we can do a belt/chain conversion,
then any GS(X) 500-550 rear wheel (with a drum brake) might be a good fit...

Sorry, I don't understand... what does "whale" have to do with "Savage"?  Roll Eyes
