I'm considering trying to swap a sissy bar set up for non sissy bar rails.
Does any one know if the bolt holes will line up ?
I have an 03 and of course my choices will all be newer models.
Am I setting myself up for a headache? I do think I would like the cleaner look of no sissy bar.

i have 02 fender rails on my 87 they were easy, the only difference in mine was the turn signal wires had different connectors on them, but not really an issue if your just changing the rails.

Somewhere in the back of my mind I think I remember reading about saddlebag brackets not fitting across all years. That's telling me I might better check before buying or swapping for very new fender rails. I guess I'm questioning whether non sissy bar rails use the same mounting holes as sissy bar rails.

They're from an '07. Thank you very much BTW, it did show and will get used on my commute, when I actually start commuting with Erin.

seviersavage,
Take a look at this thread. It should answer all your questions. Comes with pics, and how to.
