Noob throw-over saddlebag question. (Read 104 times)

Posts: 175 Maine Gender:	Noob throw-over saddlebag question. 08/04/08 at 04:37:11 How the heck do you make the throw over saddle bags stay in place? I have found nothing about tying them down or anything. I used them for the first time yesterday. At 50mph, they are flapping around. If the turn signals were not there, they would blow off. So, how are you tying them on? Or am I doing something wrong?

Reply #1 - 08/04/08 at 04:53:31 there should be some kind of tie-down attachment on the bottom of the bags that you tie off the the frame. At least thats what i did with the OEM bags (not sure what kind of bags you have).

Reply #4 - 08/04/08 at 06:10:06 There are basic straps with buckle snap connections,can't think what they're called.(Have seen them in MC Catalogs) I used those and attached the bags to my bike easily.(Under the saddle bag flap and to the frame) They havent moved yet

Reply #7 - 08/04/08 at 08:28:36 You might be able to get away without having the brackets in place... The backs of MY bags are a hard plastic. But I don't know that I would suggest doing that. There's a pretty good how-to about bending up your own brackets on the boards here. Probably be done for a few bucks in supplies.
