I had a kenda cruz on the front when I purchased the bike and due to the tread pattern there was a definite uneven wear pattern.  The center was fine but where a rain groove zigged towards the center, it thinned.  So the cupping may have nothing to do with balance.  Just plain old age.  Make sure the tire is balanced and the correct air pressure is maintained is all you can do.  I guess while you are balancing the tire you can check the bearings too.

Is most of your wear on left of center? Crown of road will wear this side, left turns take more lean and left turns are longer in distance. Even balance will cause the wear your talking about.. As said above check air pressure and keep tire/wheel balanced.

Hey guys thanks for the help. I am going to replace the tire.I looked at it closer and discovered that it has spider cracks in the side walls any way. I don't like knowing that it has those. I didn't know you could ballance a motorcycle wheel! Undecided I'll check the ballance on both my bikes. The wear is all over the width of the tread. The smaller knobs on the tread are wearing out faster than the rest. It looks kind of slanted from the larger tread to the smaller if you can understand with my weak explaination of the whole thing. Once again Thanks for the help. As soon as i can i'll post a pic of my ride.  Coolsocal40

You get a good tire on that thing & it will walk around corners that it is currently wallowing thru like a drunk cow. Mine handled like that before I changed tires. I only had close to 8 k on the front(?),, IIRC, but those IRC stockers bite.

I'm in SanDiego.
I agree the stock tires suck! I just replaced the rear with a dunlap. It's wider and sticks better in the corners. I'll get the matching one for the front. Wink
