Wow. Kuryakyn Grantour Bag

Today has been kinda fun. First of all, my husband changed the spark plug in the Savage, and she fired up so strong. This aint no 250, that's for sure. She sounds beastly! And she's ready to take off without even touching the trottle. It made me giggle. If that weren't enough, the post man stopped by just as we were hanging out there in the driveway. The Grantour bag I bough came in. It will be affixed to the Savage, but since she's getting worked on, it went on the GZ250. It's a big bag. But I like it. The backrest is totally functional, even when the bag is empty. Yea.

Yea, I'd love a picture. I wound up buying Kuryakyn Tombstone Bag which I LOVE. Before I bought it though I considered the bag that you just bought. The reason I didn't buy it is because I was afraid it would cramp me ... I'm a big boy.

It would have.
I like the Tombstone bag too. Didn't buy it, but it was the runner-up.
Unfortunately, my camera battery is dead, and I have no idea where the charger is.

Look in the bathroom cabinet, third drawer down, for the charger.

Sockmonkeygirl, this is what the Tombstone looks like on the Savage. I love it and it feels sooooo comfortable on those long rides.

I love the look of the tombstone bag and i would have one on order right now but the price was a little high for me. I did some searching and found a bag that does what I want it to do and more. I found it at wal-mart in the camping/cooler section. It's insulated and has a hard plastic liner so it holds its shape pretty well(the plastic liner is also waterproof). I had to sew some nylon straps w/velcro for mounting purposes but that was the only thing i had to do to it. I paid less than $15.00 for it. Here's some pics. As you can see, I stuffd a foam pad in the front pocket for a backrest, The side mesh pockets can hold lots of things, and the main compartment is shown with a 12-pack of diet pepsi. Still lots of room for ice or more drinks. You could pack alot of clothes and stuff in there too.

I like both bags! Great job modifying the cooler.
When I bought my 250, the seller had been using a backpack that he stuffed a (clean) molded plastic trash can into. Worked great with a bungee.
I love saving money, but the deciding factor for buying the Kuryakyn bag was that (I'm hoping) it appears to be fixed to the bike, to discourage someone from trying to take the entire bag off and walk away with it while I'm at work or parked somewhere.

Yea, that's a good mod with the cooler. Wouldn't have thought about that. I paid a whole lot more than $15. :'( Everytime I see those hard bags I wanna order 'em!
I was concerned about security too. I have mine strapped to the backrest like it's supposed to be, but I also bungeed it to my saddlebag supports. Provided a lot more stability--particularly up front while getting on/off the bike. They can still steal it in a matter of minutes, but at least they'll have to work a little harder for it. ha
