It turns out that the old cliche about bright ideas ocurring in the shower can be true. The other morning, I had just such a brainstorm.
Question:
What can you make from a leftover piece of scrap steel, a u-bolt, foam strips, and some rubber bands?
Answer:
A very servicable GPS mount.
In this case, the middle rubber band is positioned between the two parts of the "highway" screen that I normally use. For other screens, I would move it up above the display.
Note that the landyard is tied to the bars to the right of the GPS. I trust this mount, but I'm not careless.
So far I have put about 70 high speed miles on this without any trouble.
