My quest for a Savage continues......
06/17/08 at 17:05:11

Another Savage just went up for sale in the area.  2005 S40 with 7k miles on it. Blue Book is $2800 and the owner has it listed for $3500. I asked her if he would take Blue Book and she said "Right now i would defininatley take that I really need the money to buy another bike that I want".

Now for the stupid question. The bike is white. Having been out of motorcycles for about 15 years I was wondering if white was considered a "girls color".  I don't mind being diferent but just didn't know what the current world status on bike colors is so give me your HONEST feedback. If I showed up at a Savage Rally would people be snickering at me?

Hit me with your best shot!

Cheers,
Bleemus

Here is the bike...

That looks like an old police bike, which is cool IMO.  Definitely not a "girl's color".  I'd ride it!

Good luck.

I don't give a rat's a$$ what other people think, they're gonna snicker till you blow by their HD anyway.  Buy it, white is the easiest color to repaint.   Grin

But I think it's cool the way it is.   Grin

Don't worry, white is a great color, lots of pinstriping and decal potential. Last I heard, pink was a girl's color.

"Hey! What's the difference between pink and purple? ....
The grip! "   Cheesy

I ride a purple bike.  Anyone who has a problem with that is welcome to step right up to me and express themself.  I also wear jeans from Costco, own a cockapoo, and chew tobacco.  I am soooo uncool.

But I like me.  So screw 'em.

Yes I like My white 2005. I bought it because of the nice clean look it had, then I went and put decals all over it. I still like it and the decals can come off anytime i want.

Nice bike Al!  Ok. you all have convinced me.  I am guessing that 7k miles is nothing on these bikes so I will put it on the list. There is a green/white 2000 with 1k miles on it in a garage nearby that I want to buy but the owners disappeared for the last few days. If I don't get that one I will go for this white one.

So close to being a Savage I can't stand it!

Al, if you are still monitoring this thread can you tell me where yo got that seat. It looks more comfortable than the stock seat. I did a search for "sporty motorcycle seat" and didn't find it.

It's a HD Sportster seat.  Search on sportster seat.  There's a thread on it in the tech section as well.
