I'm averaging 51.5 driving two-lane highways at 65-70 mph with stop signs every 5 miles or so.  I've managed 56 mpg driving 55 mph and taking it easy on acceleration.  One day I'm going to do everything right, just to see if I can break 60mpg.  Mine is a 1987 model.  It's completely stock, except for a fork bag and a five gallon cooler strapped to the sissy bar.  No windshield.  I'm 6'-3" and 190 and wear loose flappy Carhart clothes.  I'm told all of those things are hard on mileage.

varies on smile factor  Grin.

I have gotten 54 mpg but .... last tank (first tank after replacing pilot jet) only got 41.  That could be becuase I was seeing if I had gotten rid of the backfire, .... lots of rev's then off the gas and clutch in to check for the POP.  Also found I had the screw real rich.....

First tank after engine rebuilt was 39, and it was a steady climb to 54.  Have 2.5K miles on since the rebuild......

As a side note:  some of you know my wife just got a GZ250.  Well, it finally used enough fuel to make it worth stopping at the station.  With only about 200 miles on the odometer, the thing is getting 79 miles to the gallon, at about 50-55 mph.  I'm pretty happy about that.

I have a 2005 s-40 with 7000 miles on it . Just checked the mileage for the first time(bike is new to me ) and got 57.5 mpg. this was a mixture of around town, and cruising the country roads mostly 40-50 mph. or less.Sammy.

I got 47 last time I checked on my 2003, which has had the half spacer mod and a mixture adjustment.  That was mixed freeway and city riding with some hard acceleration.

I live out in the boonies but still have to contend with stop signs, and I have a tendancy to beat every one at the above mentioned, but I'm still in the ball park with 47 mpg,
Harley Muffler and a jet change,no white washer.
