New owner of an '06

Just took possession of an '06 with 370 miles on the clock! I like the simplicity and the ride....but I have long arms (34 sleeve length) and feel cramped with the drag bars and seat. Has anyone replaced these and any suggestions? Also, a flat seat such as on the old Triumphs and Bmws would let me slide back...or a solo seat that is long in the length...any suggestions there also?? I am looking forward to making it fit and doing some touring on the little beast...I am tired of the bigger bikes with the accompanying maintenance headaches. Thanks in advance for any help. Paul

Congrats on the new bike. You can darn near do anything you'd like to this scoot. Check out the technical section, as well as rubber side down. You can also use the search feature from the tool bar.
Good luck.

If you're a bigger guy, like me.I've got 14"apes on my '87.Plus there are forward control extensions available, right here from Ed L.I have them on my '86.If you put the combo together it would be great.I didn't do it on the '87 because I'm probably selling it,and already have toooo much money in it.
Might take the apes off the '87,and put them on the '86 now that I think about it.Either put the drags or Crazy z's on the '87

Thanks for the feedback...do the forward control extentions take a lot of bend out of your knees and do the 14" apes require additional cables for the added length? Thanks again, Paul

don't know about the ape hangers, but the forward control extensions by Ed L are great. I'm 6'1" and 4" extensions did me nicely. Don't forget to raise the front of the seat with some washers and longer bolts. It'll keep your voice from changing! (check tech section)

Red '97, cone filter, 150 main, 52.5 Pilot, half spacer, Screaming Eagle turnout, 17/43 chain drive, shield, de-badged, 4" forward control extensions. Gettin' there.

Yes the apes require longer cables, etc. If I was to do it again I wouldn't.I like them, just alot of hassle, unless you know somebody at a bike shop.
