Suzuki Savage rear fender ideas?

Hey all, Long time no talk.  Getting set for the 2008 season.  Heres the deal, got some extra cash.  I want to do something with my rear fender, cause I took the backseat and sissy bar off.  I know many people do this, but what is the best way to go?  I was thinking:

A.   Get rear fender bib to cover up holes and wires (any suggestions where I could get one that fits the savage?)

B.   Get a vintage luggage rack from JP cycles (not sure if it will fit the savage?)  Probably will go with this option.  I might just get a luggage rack off an old vintage schwinn bike and put it on.

http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=8B312683-EF8A-46B6-BA9F-283CD16...

C.  Or get new rear fender, which would probably be pricey (where could I find one these?) I heard someone might offer some sort of package on this site?  It is worth noting I do not have experience in cutting metal or anything like that.

Any input to the following is much appreciated.  I think it will also help in the future for those contemplating rear fender options.

Thanks for your time
Jonny Smiley

P.S. what happened to the photo gallery?!?

Oh yea, anyone know where I can get a seat cover. My seat ripped :'(.  I just need like a bicycle cover or something to cover up the rip.

Thanks again

Gaffers tape and epoxy make for an excellent short-term re-upholstering system, if for no other reason than to protect the foam from tears and moisture. Tape over the rips (gaffers tape is black and made of fabric so it doesn't look all too bad) and then glue over the edges of the tape with a small amount of epoxy so that they don't peel. if you tape over the whole seat instead of just the rip it almost looks like it was supposed to look that way. It will work just fine until you can spring for a less uncomfortable seat.

If you want a new fender, try these out.  Good prices but are fiberglass, not metal.  I'm getting ready to order new front and back fenders.

Me, I'd be looking at a Honda Shadow rear fender (front, too...)

I'll let you know in a few weeks.  I'm ordering mine first part of next week (waiting on a check).  They come in blanks, so you have to drill the holes.  (At least you only have the holes you want to use then).  And since they are fiberglass, you have to watch it carefully when you drill.

Gary, Let me know how installation goes.  I appreciate the feedback.

mpescatori, you think the honda shadow fenders would fit?  Are they easy to install?

Has anyone heard or gotten these fenders that Sluggo makes for $125?  I really like the ones on his bike, those are exactly what I am looking for.  Any info on this would be much appreciated (are they easy to install, whats the mounting system include, is the price for both, etc.)

Thank you everyone for their input so far.  I really appreciate the help I have gotten over the years from you guys.  Thanks again! Smiley
