savage bobber w/ a cherry bomb
02/21/08 at 16:15:12
I recently bought this savage and turned it into a bobber. I just repainted and pinstriped it. I also cut the stock exhaust pipe and welded on a cherry bomb onto it and wraped the pipe with pipe wrap.
The bike is super loud now but in a good super loud kinda way w/ a great tone. since I put the cherry bomb and pipe wrap on the bike has ran alot better and also gained lot more power!

I noticed the voltage regulator is moved, sureley required by the bob. I'm planing on moving mine, because I think thats why the battery keeps drying out, overcharging. Most bikes have the reg in some kinda air flow, and not between the seat and fender. I think the reg overheats and losses ability to regulate. No regulating mean overcharging at sustained higher rpm's, hence dry battery. Nice paint scheme, and I also like the grips.

I noticed you took all possible chrome off the bike. Is it because you don't like it, or are cleaning it?

Glasspacks sound amazing on this bike. I experimented with a couple of them when I had my S40; a short one with a large diameter core & a long one with a smaller diameter core. Both sounded like a subwoofer w/800 watts of deep bass booming out! WAY more power than the stock pipe too. The large one boosted top end power, the long thinner one boosted low end & mid-range & was a little quieter. Can't remember what I paid but I think they were under $30 each. Not a bad way to go. Some have about a 7 degree bend on the inlet so it lines up perfectly.

I have a starter switch that is under the seat. Almost all of the wiring is under the seat which causes a bit of a rats nest. I am now working on making a fake round oil tank to fit under the seat and to hide all of the wiring. I am still trying to figure out the best way to make the fake tank
I bought the bike with alot of the crome already off of the bike. the hard tail mounts were also already on the bike.

Aaaaaaaaaa...... drive around a few days not using it. tape something to the lever to remind yourself to not touch it. I think you'll realize that stopping is a good thing ...... so much so that it over-rides "looks".
