Tire Pressure
01/17/08 at 09:57:08

Hello all,

I am a newbie when it comes to the Savage. I just bought mine on 01/14/08, got a great deal on it. Unfortunately, I did not get an owners manual. I have done my usual checks on it, but I do not know what the recommended tire pressures are supposed to be. I can see what the recommended tire pressure is on the tire, but I am curious what the manual specifies, and what you all figure is the best pressure for both the front and rear for riding, from your experiences.

Don't follow the pressure on the tire.  The tire is meant for different bikes.

Take a stroll up to your steering head and you'll find it right there...same as Bill said, too.

On mine it is on a sticker on the upper belt guard. Max

I had the sticker on my belt guard, but things can change.  The s/n label on the steering head is more permanent...

It isn't on your steering head?  Or it's just hard to see because of your fairing?

I know the VIN data sticker is there, but it sure is impossible to see now with the fairing. I've not taken my off the belt guard, but it does take some peering to find it under the hard bag. I use those pressure warning valve caps for the pre- ride check, the've yet to fail me or be a problem. Use a 30 F and 36 rear and it works for me. Max

Thought so, but with my dislike for stickers, the one on the belt guard was gone long ago.
