Built a set of bars
10/04/07 at 06:26:06

I built a set of custom bars that are pretty basic but I like them. I took some old Z bars I had narrowed and chopped about 4" off the top and added a piece of tubing to the top. it basically a square to give a rough idea of how they look. I will post some pic later to day when I have time.

Are you going to use a sportster tank? How I did mine, went to the hardware store got a 3/8" connecter nut welded it on the back bone.Cut the stock rear mount from the original tank(mine was junk)welded it to the rear of sporty tank.So easy to r&r tank. Wink

The fender is one I got from a friend, Its a 6" flat fender for 16" wheel. I plan on using the stock tank. I finished the fender tonight. All Tig filler rod and grinding. To be honest i dont really like the finished product but ill have to see it on the bike before I do anything.

been meanig to ask you, how fast can you tear your bike down? it seems like it's so bare, it would be easy.

I did it over a two day period but adding up the actual time: About 2 Hours. I know it seem unrealistic but i know the bike inside out so it was easy. first timers will take longer. That includes boxing and labeling everything Too.

I had mine stripped down to the bare frame in about 3 hours 45 minutes... (noob+slightly intoxicated at the time) It only took me... three weeks to put it back together (I am the King of Procrastination)
