Hi Y'all! Just picked up a super 2000 Savage converted into a Ryca CS-1 with additional customization. Needs a little work, but it is a sweet little Cafe racer.
I live in the DFW, Texas area and have a few other bikes to play with, old and new, but I've been dreaming of the CS-1 ever since Ryca came out with the kit.
Been riding since 1984, and my 1st bike was a '75 Yamaha RD350B (which I still have) that tried to kill me on my 1st ride. The next was a new '82 Yamaha XT200 dual-sport which I rode to death, lol. Then a Honda Shadow 500 that was a fun little bike until it was stolen. Next was an '83 Honda Magna V65 that I almost killed myself on multiple times because I had never learned what counter-steering was, and could not control the beast at high speeds. I sold that for a '90 Honda CB-1 400cc i4 little bomb that I started racing in the WERA/CRRC Texas road racing club. Attended the California Superbike School a few times and met Keith Code. That's where I learned how to ride a bike fast.
Raced a number of bikes until I won the CMRA Formula Two-Stroke class championship in 1997 on my modified 1985 Yamaha RZ350, and took 2nd place nationally in the WERA class.
Many other bikes have come and gone, and now I am kinda slowing down with a couple 2001 Kawasaki W650 twins and an '06 Bonneville T100. Just recently picked up an '09 Suzuki DRZ400SM to get my hooligan vibe on, and a 2022 Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe for highway work and trips.
Already posted pics and made my introduction in the Cafe section:
