Howdy! Just picked up my second Suzuki, used to have a GS450GA. Now I'm in a 2001 LS650, Love tinkering as much as riding and I cant stop taking things apart, including my bikes! Tongue

Lots of work to do on this one but it'll be fun!

Hello, I am Joe from Georgia. I am a first time rider and my bike is a 2012 S40. It was the first bike I sat on, but shopped around a bit more before making my purchase. I love the ride and can't wait to get some mods done. Should be exciting since I am not very mechanical. This site has been great for info and stories. Thanks everyone!

New to the forum. Been riding for 25 years. I bought a GS500e for my wife to learn on but even lowered it is too tall for her (she is 5'0"). After searching, I'm convinced that the LS650 is the way to go for her to ride. If you are similar in size to my wife, please let me know what you think.

Doc B:

I see at the bottom of your page you are looking to get a LS 650 for your wife.

Might be a good trade....I might be interested.  Send a picture of your wife! Grin

Hey Savages!

I'm new here but don't have my bike yet.  I'm in the process of looking and also posted a question regarding 2 bikes I'm checking out.
In my younger years I rode a '75 Yamaha RD200 then a '77 Yamaha XS400.  Unfortunately, a careless cager pulled out on me and put me in the hospital for a bit after I flew over his car and landed on my face.
Fast forward about 25 years and I ended up on a Buddy Pamplona 150cc scooter in 2008.  Just can't stay away from 2-wheeled Nirvana!
I commute about 45 miles a day on it and ride year-round as much as I can in the Rocky Mountains so I've racked up 40K miles on that little beast.  I've had it up to 74 mph indicated on those 10-inch wheels on one trip down from the mountains.  Now that's a thrill!

I live in the 'burbs of Denver and work at Children's Hospital Colorado.  I'm active on a really great scooter forum and looking forward to learning from y'all and then contributing as much as I'm able.

Cool! My last bike in 1970 was a Yamaha 200 twin! I bought my first Savage last year, did a bunch of work on it and bobbed it out, found a newer one with 1800 miles, sold my old one for the price of the new one!  It's a great bike, no regrets! Except once in a while I see an old Smiley two stroke twin on craigslist and I drool....

Picked up a 2005, S-40. A step up from the Yamaha XT-225. From MN. Do short rides, 10 to 50 miles. 2-4 times a week. (Depending on weather). Mostly errands, and, 'Amber Fluid' runs.  I can't ride in the rain, because I'll melt. (I'm so sweet)
Already scouring the Bone Yards, for things, to add and modify.  After  about 2 weeks of reading here, have already decided to do some other things.
40 years ago, did a lot of, "Fix for 5, ride for 10", really stupid stuff in a gravel pit, with no MC lic.
Have been told I look like, "A Monkey riding a Peanut", when I rode the little XT-225.   (But they said that with a, smile, on their face).
Anyway, this Forum, looks to be as good, as the XT225 one. With a very low, 'noise to signal' ratio.
Will be looking forward to reading more, and may ask a question or post a, 'What I Did'. every now and then.      Later.

Ben Franklin once said: "If you give up a freedom, for the sake of security, you will have neither".
Which is More TRUE, today, than yesterday.('06, S-40, Stock) well, mostly .
