also, wetting the paper filter before you pull it out helps.

I have not been able to find the Fairfield "Nu-Foam Polyifil", have only been able to find Fairfield "Polyifil Project Fleece". The Project fleece is not one-inch thick. It's about one-eighth inch thick. So if I use 16 layers of the Project Fleece, will it be equivalent to two layers of the Nu-foam? Is it the exact same material, just thinner?

found mine at Hobby Lobby with the pillows. They had 1" and 2" packages.

Come on DBM , Flow test it
Same stuff has been used in many applications for air filtration for many years. My old air compressor uses it , I would say not for extremely dusty conditions , if it fit good it would work well , but how does flow ?
It might loose some filtering capability by layering it.
