Now I have to ask, what type of air filter is that, was it a fitting you had to modify, and did you have to re-jet the carbs.  I plan to re-jet anyway to get the lean mixture out and make the mix "normal" as the other posts have suggested.  I like the battery move for car b access.

What about a shorter battery and cut the battery case in half.  Then you could get to the carbs and not have to move the battery?

Removed the airbox(three bolts hold it on, Clymer said only two I think, and I was pulling on it for a while).  Added a little base extension for the batter mount and moved the battery back.  I am using two bolts instead of the original four.  Keeps it simple, no real hardware mods.  Now I have to find the KN filter intake... Hey grim,
Sorry I was on rotation and couldn't get back to you. As you have found out you don't need to do the chain mod to move the battery. ALso the K&N is RC1250. BOlts right up you can order it from K&N directly will take about 2-3 weeks.
