george (I might object to the word limey but I definately come from the place where guvnor is spoken & have the dialect to prove it!)

note I don't say accent - you lot have the accent - we invented the language - you're the lot who screwed it up. tire for tyre, jeeze!

Always thought it was more like "Guvnuh"
But won't argue that point. Rednecks don't understand half of the Queen's English. A friend of mine, who is a Mick, asked me if I wanted a poke. After seeing my expression, he said it was an ice cream cone in Ireland. I was relieved to say the least.

I always thought a poke was slang for a screw (& not the kind you fix wood together with!)
