Performance clutch?
02/21/07 at 17:40:02
WIth all of the talk about a chain conversion, which has me very intrigued by the way, i was wondering if there is a high friction clutch for the savage? This might help the problem of first gear and slipping the clutch when dropping the gear ratio.
Any thoughts?

Just shim the clutch springs and call it a day. More pressure on the clutch plates = higher friction.
Oh, and don't use oil with friction modifier in it and you will be just fine.

Have higher pressure springs setting here ready to go in along with high friction clutch set - Vesrah VSK306/VC-344 - one of these I'll find out if they grab better

You get those from Dennis Kirk? I know they used to carry them.

The reason I ask is that I had ordered them but they ended up on back order. So I canceled and put the old ones in.

No thanks man. I have enough on my plate at the moment.
Why don't you jump in there and take things apart for awhile? It's fun.
Oh yeah. I forgot that you have good weather all the time and don't really have an excuse

yes sir - this warm wet climate is wonderful - sitting outback in a rocking chair with a cup of coffee waiting for the termite man to come spray (again) seems they're back

Theres some kinda termite treatment they use up here where they drive a stake in the ground( hollow stake) & drop some kind of bait down in it. It sterilizes or kills I can't remember, but I've seen some businesses use it & some very careful shoppers I know do that. IF we get to build the house I want, it will be compressed earth block.
Yesterday was 80 tops, no wind, for a change & clear & sunny. Got a peg down in a very long sweeper I haven't exited above 70 before. Came out at 75. Amazing how a week or so of not riding affects me.

Common Greg! I've ridden every day this week here in the Baltimore area. 32-40F all week
A few dicey spots though as the bike slide 6" to the side on some black ice Wed... ??? I guess that's where the dirtbike saddle time paid off huh?
