How I modified my driver's footpegs

This is how I modified my driver's foot pegs. It works really well and looks pretty good too if I do say so myself.

I'll take pics of other mods as I do them and post instructions on my site as well for any who wishes to know.

Oops, those thread measurements should be 3/4 x 16NC not 16M.

I looked threw your directions a couple times and I like the theory you applied but I question the safety issues. I not only rest my feet on pegs, at times I stand on them. also by design I'm gonna get my leg/ankle caught, gauranteed! Again  your idea is worth it's weight, trouble just seems to follow me at a close pace.

I give it a thumbs up for creativity.  Proves there is definitely more than one way to do it.

You can stand on your pegs?  Good for you.  I remember the dirt bike days, but these pegs are so far forward it takes a conscious effort to get my a$$ off the seat.

Nope, I'm serious. And they work rather well, and feel more like floorboards than pegs, very confortable and very stable.

Donīt take it the wrong way. Looks good and comfy.

I use those things for EVERYTHING (to hang all kinds of tools, brooms, guitars, cables, even a chainsaw!) theyīre strong, but not THAT strong, even the steel ones.

The thing I was thinking about here are G FORCES.
(One G force is reaching 62 mph in 2.83 seconds).

...however in the event of a crash (god forbid) where you must stop in 1 foot from a speed of 30 mi/hr. Your body weight, i.e. 160lb, turns instantly to 4813 lb or 2.4 tons or 30 G's !!!

What Iīm basically saying is: IF you hit a HARD BUMP with all your weight on the pegs, they could snap and you could lose balance. Ride safe.

The ones in my garage are bright red.  Not a good color match...

If I saw it in a parking lot I would go look at it. Looks good enuff. My issue with it is the strength. I know my riding style & they wouldn't be safe for me. In an emergency, they may not be stout enough for you. Good luck with that.

I have actually did some very rough testing on them. Hard excelleration and braking, rode over some really rough bumps, and even raised up a little bit on them to test the streangth in case I ever do have to try to stand up on them. Even with me weighing at approximately 254 pounds, they seem to be holding up rather well.

Well,, awwriteee then, as long as you are looking at them & thinking about that stuff. Like I said, good luck with that & I mean that. I really don't want to find out they failed ya & you got all skinned up.

BTW, are you a "peg dragger" in the corners? Are those shorter than original?

It all depends on my mood on whether I take the corners at a peg dragging angle. Most of the time I don't.

They are a little longer than stock but the location is about 1/2 an inch higher and 1/2 an inch more forward than stock. That's just a rough estimate, I haven't actually measured it.

And also the way I oriented them with the ends turned up, saves a bit on the peg dragging.

Apparently my webhost won't let me post pics the way you have to here.

Sounds like you've thunk it out. Since the pegs have no hinge they won't fold like the stockers. I'm sure you already gave that the thought it deserves.
