upcoming mods and fixes

In about a month I'll be digging into the head and doing the plug cap and valve adjustment, cam chain tensioner check. Usual stuff. I'm intrested in getting rid of the chrome covers, anyone have any insight on what I can take off the top to make the engine look cleaner after removing the covers?? I seem to remember I thread where a poster had done a similar mod but I was unable to locate it.

I took my chrome covers off. I have the black engine/2005 & I polished the fin edges all the way around to the front & back, where it used to be black. Then I buffed the black paint off the valve covers & left them natural metal color. Also, there's a brass/copper colored bracket on the upper left side of the head that I painted black. I like the way it looks. Easy to get the spark plug out now.

Here's one pic I submitted to bikepics.com awhile back. The lighting doesn't show the head very well but it's all I've got for now.
