Smart stuff to have around....

Do you have a spare parts stash? What things are prone to breaking after a few years? Clutch cable? Throttle cable? I know there are folks here with older bikes & lots of miles. I want to buy things before they need replaced, but not years before I need them. I have a tube for front & rear & rim strips. But, not even a spark plug for spare parts other than the tubes. Suggestions from the folks with experience?

a spark plug, some oil filters, motor oil, a set of front brake pads and a clutch cable are the only spares I keep on hand.

You might try the
ROAD SPARES
thread in the Tech Ref forum. It may not be exactly what you're asking here but it's similar.

A shifter rod with L and R hand threaded nuts in my tool bag.
It's a cheap part, but if it breaks, it sure can strand you.
