Wow! Really nice job!  What a sweet side car! Looks like it was designed specifically just for the Savage. I have a couple of questions. I have never owned a bike with a sidecar or rode in one....... 1) Expensive?  I mean are we talking thousands of dollars?.....2) Does the person riding in the sidecar by law have to wear a seat belt? )..3) What is that green scooter thingy in front of the savage?..4) Does it have lots of storage space?..5) If you wanted to say go ride for a day or weekend without the sidecar, is it easy to remove and would that be advisable?   Thanks for the photo's.

Very cool indeed.

Regarding the skill sets required to ride solo or with the sidecar ... there is certainly a significant difference between them but being able to switch back and forth safely depends on the  capability of the operator.

In military aviation it is possible for a pilot to have to fly different aircraft which can vary greatly in type  & size and require very different skill sets for each.  It can and is done safely if the operator is capable.

Try flying a fixed wing aircraft, prop or jet, and then jumping into the seat of a helicopter ... it is a whole new world.
But it can be done.

Same with cages.  I can hop from a stick-shift econocar to my V6-auto company van with no problem.  That is with me using left foot-clutch right foot-brake in a stick and left-foot brake in an auto.  Trust me, you don't want to stab the clutch in a auto-shift car.  I would think that the instant you hop on and can or cannot lean the habit set would shift to match.

I considered a sidecar for carrying the girls as passengers -- but they said they wouldn't.  Pity.   I was 11 when I got a ride in my uncle's side car from Heathrow to Slade Green -- IMO much better than being a passenger with a huge rider in front of you blocking the view.

Growing family?  I notice a scooter/side car comboin the background. I think some one has a serious hobby. And the Savage/"steib" looksgreat. Enjoy yourself.

Totally Awesome! Hello all I just signed up over the weekend. My wife owns a Suzuki S40 which is a ton of fun to ride.

But you actually attached a side car to the Savage???? What year and size is the Savage. I want a sidecar because when we go to the lake I want to be able take the dog and the sidecar is the perfect solution.

My wife may be ready for a bigger bike but would that sidecar attach to the S40? Would the S40 have enough power or is that an 800 you've pictured?

Man I've got alot of ques\tons! Thanks a bunch!

Cool looking setups!

I'm curious, what's your top speed when carrying a load? We want to carry our dog in the side car along with a few other luggage items. We don't anticipate getting on the highway but we will probably need to go at least 55 mph.
