Bigger tank (again)

Now autum time is near again, im beginning to get ideas for "winter prjoeckts" And one og the good ones would be to get a bigger tank ! I have desided that if I should do that mod, then I would move the speedo up on the handle bar, that would place the speedo nearer to the naturel eye sight when Im driving and maby would make it easier to find a replacement tank ! Have anyone heard about that kind of mod !

Keep riding in the cooler autum waeether and stir up some brown leafs  Grin

Am investigating similar train of thought, just received an email from "glassworks" who are answering an inquiry I sent to a tank shop. said they would need the bike (I emailed folks in wales (UK) so I don't see that happenen soon.  Have investigated several speedo's range in price from $49. to @$300. for handle bar bolt ons.  Next step, finding @4.2 gal tanks of same length or a little longer than stock.
I have the buckhorns which shjould make a fatter tank a little more do-able.

Idea for putting the speedo elswer.

Not bad huh?

Search the ls-650.de forum for pictures. These Germans have some nice ideas about modifying the Savage.

The ignition switch could take the place of the speedo

Kropatchek:
Thats a nice workaround  8) But I would like something more simple and clean. It would be nice to move the high beam, left/right indicater up on the handlebar too !

Trippah:
What do you do with the cable that runs from the engine to the speedo ? Is it possible to get a longer one ?

Dangman, will let you know when I get there, which will also be over the winter....Worst comes to worst, i suspect one of the larger cable companies can make a special for a few bucks extra.  Maybee barnett?

I like the job shown in the picture, almost looks like he mounted the speedo in the headlamp nacelle?? I'm thinking a little higher and back towards the tank over the handle bar.
