Belt Stretch

Hi all, I just recently put on a new belt and was noticing some noise from it when i was slowing to a stop. I had put a couple of hundred miles on it. When I checked it I realized that it had stretched quite bit out of the range of the belt tension tool. I readjusted it back up to the middle indicator recommended by the service manual. Does anybody know how often I need to keep checking the tension on the new belt? Will it stablilize after a number of miles? Thanks.

Thats the good thing about a belt compared to a chain, chain streches all the time, belt hardley ever.
