Throwover saddlebags okay under seat?

What is the best way to deal with the rectifier under the rear seat when mounting a throwover set of saddlebags under the rear seat?

Cut the yoke to fit around the rectifier.

I just laid my bags over the fender and reinstalled the seat. No problems.

you should be able to move the rectifier to a different location too.  Just make sure it is bolted to metal as I'm pretty sure the fender acts as a heat sink for it.

What Brewbrother said.  I went through several sets of saddlebags, and each ones I just laid over the top of the rectifier and stuck the back seat on.  Rode that way for about 8000 miles, no problem.

On my current set up I just have a roll bag mounted over the headlight.  It's about the only thing that I could come up with that would work effectively and look ok on the bobber.  Then again, I haven't been carrying as much stuff with me as when I was riding to class every day.  The fun part about it is that the rectifier becomes a non-issue (unless you have to move the rectifier because you cut the fender as short as I did...)

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, used-up, worn out, and defiantly shouting 'Geronimo!!!'

Got mine over the rectifier too. But cut out around it as best I could so it can breathe a little.

It is that ribbed thing on the rear fender that will really hurt your rectum if you ride without first putting the rear seat back on Grin
