This was advertised as a slash cut Sportster muffler. I was wondering if anyone had one like it or had any thoughts on how loud this muffler will be on the savage??

That looks the like the one I'm currently using. Looks like the same baffle also. Yes, it is loud, but not obnoxiously loud. I still can't hear my bike over my buddies de-baffled V-star. I love the sound and look of it. Got mine for $0.99 off E-bay.

No way could I bend that mounting tab though. I just used a L bracket to tie it all together. I'm also considering putting some exhaust packing in to give a little more back pressure.

I have no direct experience of these mufflers, but from the pic's it looks like it will work well with the standard header.

If it were my Savage I would do something like this:-

40"long 1.5 i.d. header then a step up to 1.625" i.d. for 3" then 1.75" i.d. for 3" then into a 2" i.d. glasspack.
Longer=quieter with a glasspack.
Just my two pence worth.
