Hi!!  New to the site.  My girlfriend purchased an 06' Boulevard S40 and we're both getting sick of the backfiring.  I've been bouncing around the site for a while and educated myself on the idle mixture screw adjustment, but I am not familiar with carbs at all.

How exactly do you drill out the plug???  I tapped it with a screw and tried pulling it out, but the head literally pulled off the screw and now I'm left with the threaded part stuck in the plug.  Doh!!!!

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!

It's definitely in the right plug.  I tried vise grips and as a result there are no more threads left on the screw.  

So that plug isn't bonded to the carb itself somehow??  Is it supposed to pull out eventually??

When you're sure it is the right plug there's one possibility left.
You drilled too far.
The plug is 1/16" thick. Put the back of the drill in the hole and lever the plug out.

Just to make sure you have the right plug have a look at the pictures, you won't be the first one to drill into the throttleshaft.

That's the exact image I referenced before tackling all of this. Thanks for the replys.  If the plug is really only 1/16" thick, then I'm going to assume that I did tap that screw too far.  

I'll have to figure a way to back the screw out now.  I'm gonna start praying to the vise-grips gods!!!

I hope that I didn't jack up the screw too badly now.
