Today I reached the 1000 mile mark on the new S40.

She gets better and smoother every day.

I simply add gas close to the 00 mark and ride it. Puts a smile on my face every ride.

It's driven like another real world practicle vehicle; like a second car but way more fun. For back and forth to work, trips to the bank, visits, meetings, day trips, etc.

No race replica, grocery carrying, or cross country ride fantisies. Just real world every day living. The S40 is doing it's job with an A +.

For me I made the right decision. Might come with age...

In addition to carrying me to work every day Thumper held his own up on the Angels' Crest -- kept up the pace the other bikes were doing.  The saddlebags can carry 30 pounds of groceries.  I'm planning on a 300 mile midnight ride next full moon.  The Savage/S40 is capable of race replica, grocery carrying, and cross country fantasies as well as being a super city bike.

But I'm not sure about age and right decisions -- ask me again when I'm older and wiser.

Isn't there some saying to the effect that to reach old and wise you have to go through young and stupid?

Changed the oil and filter at 600 miles; That's it. Haven't opened her up yet for valve checks etc.
