'87 running too rich...I think

I just put in a new plug 2 days ago and it already fouled out with black carbon. Black smoke belches out the pipe. Right now I have the carb bowl off, anything I can adjust to maybe lean it out some? There's no telling what's out of spec on this bike as I just bought it.

Back to square one.
Take it apart, clean everything, and note which jets and needles you have in order to compare to what is normal. Put it back together with correct jets etc. Then tune according to instructions.
PS: I would suggest that you get NEW jets for the carb so that you know exactly what you are dealing with. some folks try to ream them out instead of using a proper size, and if that is the case you NEVER know where you really stand.
