Took the petcock valve apart and cleaned it then put it back together. It now is always in the open position. Does anyone know what I did wrong?

It has something to do with the spring-loaded diaphragm valve. Without seeing tha assy  it is hard to give You correct answer. Go on bikebandit or Ron Ayers and take a look at the pictures. Try to see what You did wrong.
