front wheel

Im removing the front wheel for the first time to replace the tire. the manual says to remove the brake caliber first. Is this right? I thought after lifting the front end of the ground, i could just loosen the two axle bolts on the side of the forks and it should just fall down with the brake disc. Any tips would be appreciated. thanks!

u dont need to take the caliber off to take the wheel off, just undo the bolt then the axle and the wheel will fall out.

Replacing the tire may be easier with the caliper off.
