What would happen if I turned the motor clockwise?

In looking through some old posts, i realized that I've been following the Clymer manual and turning the motor the wrong way.
I have the motor out of the bike, and have torn it down, and am in the process of rebuilding it.
During the process, i've been turning the motor clockwise. Obviously, from this point on, i'll turn it the correct way (counterclockwise).
But, my question is, did I do any damage?

So far as I've read you can give the cam chain a rough time - should be easy enough to checkout or reset the tensioner ratchet if you have the engine out

You already did it and the motor is still in one piece.
Don't worry ! If it was so easy to hurt the engine how would it survive in my hands?

Only if the cam chain pins/plates and gears are worn lots and the tensioner isn't working correctly will it cause a valve to be open when the piston is close enough to bend it. I know it works this way on a little Honda single because as the T-shirt says, "been there, done that". Max

Turning it clockwise from the right or left side of the engine?
