New thumper on the block
12/05/05 at 01:09:15

Hi there?

I'm new in this forum and really proud to see a site for us thumper people. Anyway, I'm from Malaysia and I've been a proud owner of a Savage since 6 months ago.

Well, honestly when i bought the bike(4 speed), it was initially in bad shape but after a lot of TLC, it came out to be as good as new engine wise.

Will keep in touch then...

Cheers

Miepower

Lancer,

I'm from Kuala Lumpur... where are you from mate? ever been to this part of the world ?

Theres not many Savage in Malaysia, to date I've only seen 1 savage in good running cond in Kuala Lumpur and I've also heard that there's another one around but in scrap condition.

I'll source for my parts from Singapore however their stocks availability is near to nil. They do have stocks for the LS400 and some of the external parts are interchangeable. Wink as they shere similar design with the LS650

Howdy dude.  I am in the US, South Carolina...on the east coast.
I have not been to Malaysia, Viet Nam/Thailand  was the closest I ever got.
My oldest daughter married a man born in India, and his oldest brother is a regional manager for IBM, and lives in Singapore.
Good luck with the parts search.  I get carbs/brakes/clutches/cables/etc, so if you need any just holler.

Hi, Mie.  Welcome to the greatest site there is.  I taught in Singapore for a year and went to Malaysia as often as I could.  I just basically remember tea plantations and very nice people.  We had to get out of the city so we headed for the countryside in Malaysia every chance we got!

Hi Jim,

Guess you've been to Cameron highland, the place which is famous for its tea plantations.

I would agree that its the greatest site there is and its very informative as well. Love the site... Grin

keep in touch then..

Hi miepower ... have never been to Southeast Asia myself, but in several years of hosting Exchange Students from all over Europe, Asia and Central America, I can say without hesitation that the Asian kids are some of the nicest, most polite and respectful teenagers on the planet! Currently we are hosting a 16 year old girl from Bangkok, Thailand who is a sweetheart; a sister to my natural daughter and a second daughter to my wife and I.
Welcome to the Site and it is very nice to meet you!
