Electrical connector hangin' out by edge of seat?
11/29/05 at 18:46:18

Hi, total newbie here. I did a search, and I looked in the manual, but I couldn't find any info on this. I have a black cord with a little two wire male/female connector that is hanging out the right side of the seat. I see the fuse, but that's a single wire. Could this have something to do with the battery? (like for charging?) Does this ring any bells?

Thanks,
Marc

That's where I have my connector for my trickle charger (battery minder).

Me too (well, under the seat), but I added it myself.  It's not a stock item.  That should be easy to trace though, if that's what it is.

If it's a used bike I'd almost bet it is for the Battery Tender or something like that. I see them on other people's bikes and that's where mine is but I try to keep it tucked up out of sight. If it's not you need to think about getting one for it.

Well, you guys are right. It's a SAE connector that is for a trickle charger and/or for grip warmers. That's nice, I won't have to install one for the winter.  8)
