Squeaky Rear Brake
10/02/05 at 15:22:31

Hi

I have a 2005 S40 that I had purchased in the spring and had since put 5,000 miles on it.   This is the first bike I have owned and I had not ridden in over 25 years.  I don't have much experience to draw on.  The rear drum brake squeals when applied fairly hard.  Is this normal?

Thanks

the brakes on the Savage are notoriously sqeaky. especially the front . any easy fix is to flush the drum out with water. the right thing to do is open it up clean the brake dust out etc. there have been a million topics with different fixes ...just look back through the older ones
