Buying a Used Savage -  What to look for
08/18/05 at 12:56:23

Yes, being old, forgetful, and to lazy to search -  what should I be looking  for (wrong) on a used 2002 Savage.  Besides knowing that it has been dropped at least once, what other items should I look for  to stay away from future trouble? ??? ???

Thanks

I don't know nothin' about motorcycles 'cept how to ride.

I figure if it's running strong and straight there can't be too much wrong with it.  The previous owner of my bike rode roughly 60 freeway miles it to my house -- that was good enough for me.

It all depends, each bike has it's own history.  I know when I bought my '86 the previous owner's son had owned it first and took the entire bike apart then when he put it back together he left out a bunch of the bolts.  Mainly the engine mounting bolts and some of the bolts on the jug.

My suggestion look for any loose parts that shouldn't be that way.
