If I had my option, and the money, it would be the Triumph Rocket III

It's another "different" bike.  I love the locomotive look of the engine, too.

You just had to go there again, didn't you?  I'm still wondering.....

Is tank slap related to a rider's personal endowment?  Maybe that's my problem  Tongue

I updated the other thread for you Greg...

You want to try a bike that will induce giggles follwed by crashing? Shop picked up a 1967 Yamaha L2-100 enduro, currently set up at Isle of Mann TT specs. For $100. Needs the carb cleaned and a new throttle cable.

Toys I'd buy today if I had the cash...from work...CB550K, CB750F-SS, KZ1300, L2-100, KTM 250, GL500, XS650 Midnight Heritage Special, XS400 Special, GS550E, FXE Shovelhead, BMW R/?, or a stinky little CL100 (no, really, it stinks, gas leak). Not from work... 70ish T100R (500 Triumph), 62 Duo-glide with Shovel heads, or my aunt's late 60s Honda CB something or other (shipped with no badges, in primer) that wasn't supposed to leave the factory...

Does your shop have any good deals on an old dual sport type?  An old XL 350 or so?

Nope, just a couple XL250s. Run decently, look terrible. $895 and 995, cash talks. Or a CL100, the L2-100, a KX?, maybe a couple others. Oh, TC125, TS185, L?-360, SL125. The last 4 are heaps.

Too much for those.  I think my NEW XL350 was about the same (back in '76)....a 100 to 250 size in a once popular 4 stroke bike.  Something to tinker with, restore, and maybe putt around the camp ground on....you know.  If it is has problems but will start, that will be enough....

1996 KTM250, yellow frame, white and black plastics...pure dirt. I can't start it. My kick stick died about 3.5 years ago.  :'(  I'm so beat up, I can't even kick start a Trail 90 anymore...
