Ahhh.....  There's the rub.  I do not take care of things.  I am horridly abusive of vehicles.  Always have been and I'm not about to change.  Simple works longer when abused and is easier and cheaper to fix when I do break it.  Everything breaks eventually.

sooooo true sir that was my main point the taking care of it thing!!!
However more robust and efficient systems work better and longer always have always will. This is why a The highest record mileage for an automobile with the original gasoline motor without an overhaul is 577,363 miles to 5 Jan 1993 by Don Champion's 1979 Cadillac

tax license insurance,  just 199.99 a month, for the next 84 months. that's right ride it home today and save. just 199.99 till the company is bankupt, and your note is sold pennies on the dollar yet you still owe the full nut. and you having no factory support what so ever.  Grin.

but then again i would void the warranty anyway when i bobbed it.  Shocked.

In the early Model-T days, there was a conversion kit to make the T engine do the same thing.  I got to see one several years ago -- pretty cool.

My '70 Charger was on its way to a 7 to 1 version of the same thing, when I broke the #2 rod at about 60.

Actually I read somewhere that Suzuki was planning to sell a rebadged Korean VRod loke bike.   And that looks a lot like it...

From:

Quote:
The Verona and Forenza cars are built by what used to be Daewoo of Korea, which is now controlled by General Motors. Suzuki owns a bit of the Korean manufacturer, too, and GM owns 20% of Suzuki. But GM doesn't control Suzuki.

Also Suzuki  sells engines to Hyosung and may well follow a similar business plan with them. Scroll to bottom.
http://www.motobykz.co.uk/Hyosung/hyosung.htm

I can't find that link about Suzuki rebadging, but I'll keep looking.

ShockedWow, didn't know that 'Zuki was planning to sell a re-badge of the Hyosung 650 "V-Rod" ... any more info would be appreciated. I know Suzuki has been sharing engine technology with Hyosung for awhile now ... with H's 650 & 1000cc bikes having powerplants based on the SV650 & 1000 motors...
Hyosung have been manufacturing motorcycles & scooters since the early 70's and are a staple of the Asian transportation system ... so the models they are introducing to Canada and the U.S. later this year should be reliable ... if that V-Rod styled Cruiser proves to be so ... and competitively priced, it should sell well!

hello all. new to the board but thought i would make this my first post since the question made me think.  off the bat i would say the new Bonneville black. nimble agile and just fun to ride. might consider the vegas 8-ball purely based on the lines. out of production bikes, thats easy. Old pan/shovel. not cheap, not reliable but darn they are beautiful.

Wow!  Mine is a '98 and doesn't appear to leak at all since I replaced the head plug - and only minor seepage before that.  And I'm using pure synthetic.  If there's a place to leak, synthetic will find it.

My 98 leaks out the head plug, the speedo cable (the whole thing, not just the base), somewhere under the starter...

Oh, non-engine leaks: wheel bearings (both sets), swingarm, steering head base bearing, and the right fork seal (major league leak), brake caliper...

My bike is convinced it is a 1964 Bonneville...

Back to the thread's topic... there's always the Beamer thumper.

But I ran into one of these yesterday at the local Home Depot and, though I firmly believe 2000cc is too darn much bike for anyone not towing an Airstream behind it, this piece of muscle was simply beautiful.  This one's the wrong color but it was definitely a Vulcan 2000.  Instead picture this in a pale silver-blue (it was in nearly mint condition) with a short passenger backrest and custom leather saddlebags.
