HD V-Rod (if I actually had the funds for one) or Triumph Bonneville America will do fine. Smiley

today??.... I think some kind of naked crotch rocket- TL, SV, 'Busa, (FJR is close) converted to a more UJM layout w/ decent fairing and bags or maybe some the like the big KTM 900 single.
Something else  tomorrow.

Certaintly the CB750's showed the rest what a hot bike should act like - by the way a local dealer has/had a pair of new 2002 cbr1100xx bikes one silver, one black (sale pending on it) - said they'd take around 8 - just not sure where I'd ride it - long way to the saltflats from here!

I ride whatever I can get my hands on.  That goes for motorcycles, too.  Here's my current naked sportbike, a '95 CB1000:

Maybe an SV650, or the Honda Hornet 600 - I forget what they call it in the US.  I like the sit-up-straight riding position.  This size is plenty of power for me.

I dig the look of a Ducatti Monster Dark.  Not sure I can afford the maintenance, though.

In the 70's I had a Kawasaki triple that was really hard on plugs and fouled them all the time until it was broken in at about 1000 miles. I bet I rode that bike on 2 cylinders more than 3 for the first 1000 mi.
In 1998 I ran in a Frugal 500 event and after the run one of my friends apologized for the too frequent gas stops on his 500 Kawi by saying he would have gotten better gas mileage if he wasn't running on two cylinders!

Ah so.

I just dislike that no matter what I do I can never get the chain really clean.  Tongue

One thing I'd love to have is hydraulically adjusted valves!

This post may pi$$ some people off if so sorry but then again I would let that stop my opinion!!!!!!
I dislike chains they are for bicycles and tinker toys. In my opinion the belt is the best drive it gives when it needs to allowing smoother transition on and off power which matters most in corners. Chains are clumsy not as tranquil as the belt is. Shaft is not bad I like that drive as well just like belts better. I am also a fan of liquid cooling. I drive in town in traffic in Oklahoma where the asphalt is hot enough in summer that if you look at it wrong it will start to burn! So air-cooled is really tuff on the engine. As far as working on it to me there is no difference liquid cooled has a few more parts that is all! Take are of it and you will NOT have a problem!! If you can work on a savage but not a liquid cooled bike then I fell sorry for your Autos a car cooling system is far more complicated that a bike. If you can't work on the savage then I understand the concern. One thing I love about the savage is a single carb. That rocks, but EFI would be better if I could afford it.  I got the Savage for one reason the price. At the time if I could have afforded a better I would have gotten better but then I would not have meet all of you and would have lost out on this experience. So despite the savages short comings I am very happy with me choice!!!!  8)

God I wish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adjusting the Valves Absolutely SUC&S!!!!!!!!!!!!

More of a viewpoint and a matter of taste rather than an opinion.

Ahhh.....  There's the rub.  I do not take care of things.  I am horridly abusive of vehicles.  Always have been and I'm not about to change.  Simple works longer when abused and is easier and cheaper to fix when I do break it.  Everything breaks eventually.
