I just dislike that no matter what I do I can never get the chain really clean.
One thing I'd love to have is hydraulically adjusted valves!
This post may pi$$ some people off if so sorry but then again I would let that stop my opinion!!!!!!
I dislike chains they are for bicycles and tinker toys. In my opinion the belt is the best drive it gives when it needs to allowing smoother transition on and off power which matters most in corners. Chains are clumsy not as tranquil as the belt is. Shaft is not bad I like that drive as well just like belts better. I am also a fan of liquid cooling. I drive in town in traffic in Oklahoma where the asphalt is hot enough in summer that if you look at it wrong it will start to burn! So air-cooled is really tuff on the engine. As far as working on it to me there is no difference liquid cooled has a few more parts that is all! Take are of it and you will NOT have a problem!! If you can work on a savage but not a liquid cooled bike then I fell sorry for your Autos a car cooling system is far more complicated that a bike. If you can't work on the savage then I understand the concern. One thing I love about the savage is a single carb. That rocks, but EFI would be better if I could afford it. I got the Savage for one reason the price. At the time if I could have afforded a better I would have gotten better but then I would not have meet all of you and would have lost out on this experience. So despite the savages short comings I am very happy with me choice!!!! 8)
