modifying seat

Has anyone removed the foam in the standard seat and replaced it with gel foam? I am thinking of shaving off some of the height of my seat to help me reach better and #1 Daughter suggested trying that. I'm 4'11" and have a 26" inseam. makes for quite a stretch, would like to be able to reach without wearing combat boots.

There's a post on Jon's Suzuki Savage Site on recovering his seat.  Take a peek and see if it helps.  It looks pretty simple to me.  You can get some high quality gel at Gel-Tec.
