Besides giving your Bike that terribly cool, no nonsense "industrial" look, header wrap actually keeps the exhaust cooler temp wise.
Betcha header wrap would look wild on the LS650's big pipe!

i'll post a pic when i've put it on. Grin

i ordered some and i'll be picking it up saturday.
black of course. and the guy at jim's cycle shop told me exactly how to put it on. i think it will require me to remove the header, but that isn't too big a deal.
i don't think.

The pipe might be cooler from the outside to the touch because of the wrap, but the header wrap keeps the exhaust temps HIGHER inside the pipe.  This aids in scavenging the exhaust out of the pipe, in effect making it flow better.  This is a common drag race thing, I did it on my Z400, too, for a while but it didn't add any noticable performance.  I'd like to see the pics, though, as it will make it look bad !!! 8)

Where'd you order from, Sunny?  I've only seen one place with it and it was a real nasty color. Black would rock.

Thanks,   Jegs is just 4 freeway exits away from me. About 3 miles, tops.

I'll have to stop in...

Also,  I never heard of this place: but prices are good.

Not to cast a shadow on the idea - but the biggest reason we did it and with zeal I might add at the track was to get the heat out of the engine compartment, the ambient air around the intake would drop as much as 50 deg f - cooler intake air is denser air so you can cram more fuel in with the same air volume.

Summit will match prices, they also have short lengths available and you will NEVER beat their service.  I've tried many a place over my last 25 years of racing and always go back to them.  Service is SUPERB and shipping is QUICK.

Yup.  I have the black too... and the silicone sealant and the thin stainless tie-wraps.  I'll wait until I get the broken head bolt issue fixed first though.
