Yep, Savage Rob,
that's what I ride, more like the black one at the bottom of the page, buckhorns, no sissy bar, under-the-fender tail light, windscreen, no bags (yet to come)...  Grin

The 400 cc, Savage was only marketed in the Japanese market, but we could import used bikes until the late 1990s, so people used to fill a container with used bikes from Japan and sell them here for about 1/3 of a new ride   Grin

Pictures are coming, I still have a few shots to take to finish the film  Grin

The fender looks as if it has been rotated forward.
Nice option though.

Nope, if you notice the black painted front of the fender by the swing arm, it is stock.  Notice the recesses where the frame bolts under the seat?  Trust me, that fender was shortened.

nope, was gonna be my first word also.
so did ya get the seat?

i really like the way that guy did his. it's very close to mine, but i must say better.

i like the way he attched spring mounting bracket to shock mount.  my springs attach  higher up on a bracket attached to the upper fender mount holes.
the more i look the more i like that bracket. i'll have to figgure on out.

Yep, I got my seat, the springs and the front seat mount, but I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to attach those to the bike yet....and make it look good enough, if you know what I mean....my company is kinda uncool with the concept of "government work" too, and I need to make a couple pieces...hmmmm.

In followup on the seat....

I have to fabricate 3 brackets....an elevated  pivoting one for the front of the seat and 2 offset lowering ones for the rear springs.  The springs are good and stout, but way too high, as I think you found with yours.  So I need to offset them outboard of the frame with brackets.  The seat pan also has the springs mounted further back than in the 400 above.  They are right over the fender mounting bolts...Ugh.

On a good note, I like the rubberized undercoat that I just sprayed on the bottom of the fender.  Should be dry now, and the sun is trying to come out.  Now for the paint  Roll Eyes

I thought that orange fender was off a VS 800 or 1400.  Roll Eyes I definitely like/want/need that seat!!! Looks like a 9 inch seat versus the 11 inch on Sluggo's bike. As soon as I can afford some quality shocks for the 98, I'm going to black them out similar to that... I'm going to get in one more ride if it kills me.  Wink

If you find some good quality shocks, I think that you can also get them in black too....no painting.
